Allen Wilson Greene (born December 18, 1949), also known as Will Greene,^[1] is an American historian, author, and retired museum director.

Greene was the director of the Association for the Preservation of Civil War Sites. Later, he became director of Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier in Petersburg, Virginia.

Early life and education

Greene was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois on December 18, 1949.

He grew up in Wheaton, a city located 26 miles west of Chicago.^[2][3][4] In 1963, Greene's parents took him to visit the Civil War battlefield at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
